Building and Structure Demolition in San Antonio, TX

Building and structure demolition covers everything that is not a house and not a full commercial building: detached garages, barns, shops, sheds, carports, small buildings, damaged structures and outbuildings. DiamondBack Demolition removes them for residential, commercial and property development projects throughout San Antonio and South Texas.

These are the structures people put off dealing with. A barn that has been leaning for a decade. A shop full of things nobody has looked at since 2009. A carport that came down in a storm. None of it is urgent until it is.

01

What we take down

  • Detached garages
  • Barns, stables and agricultural buildings
  • Shops, workshops and metal buildings
  • Sheds and storage buildings
  • Carports and covered parking
  • Small commercial structures
  • Damaged or partially collapsed structures
  • Silos, pens, chutes and farm structures
  • Concrete slabs and footings underneath, if included
  • Site cleanup after removal
02

Damaged and collapsed structures

A structure that has already partially failed is a different job from one that is standing. What is left is unpredictable: the remaining framing may be holding load in ways it was never designed to, and the sequence of removal matters.

If a structure on your property has collapsed, partially collapsed, or is leaning, do not send anyone inside to clear it out first. Call and describe what happened. We will look at it and tell you how it needs to come apart.

03

Barns and rural structures

South Texas properties come with a lot of old agricultural structure: wood barns, metal shops, equipment sheds, animal pens, feed structures and whatever the previous owner built out of what he had.

The usual complications are the contents, the materials and the access. Old barns are full. Old metal buildings have wood, tin, concrete and sometimes buried footings all mixed together. And the structure is often at the back of a property down a road that was not built for a haul truck.

None of that is a problem. It just needs to be part of the plan rather than a surprise.

04

What we look at

  • What the structure is made of and roughly how big it is
  • Whether it is standing, leaning or already down
  • Contents inside
  • Whether the slab or footings come out
  • Utilities running to it, including power to a shop or barn
  • What is around it that has to survive: fences, trees, other buildings, livestock
  • How equipment reaches it and how far the debris has to travel to a truck
  • Whether anything on it should be salvaged, like usable lumber or tin

That last one comes up often on old barns. If you want material set aside instead of hauled, that is deconstruction and we can talk about it.
