Mobile home demolition is the removal and disposal of a manufactured home along with the skirting, piers, steps, decks and debris that come with it. DiamondBack Demolition clears old, damaged and abandoned mobile homes from properties throughout San Antonio and South Texas, and leaves the lot clean.
If you own land with a trailer on it that nobody has lived in for years, this is the service you are looking for.
They look simple to remove, which is why people are surprised by what they involve.
A manufactured home is a mix of materials that separate as soon as you start pulling it apart: metal siding and roofing, wood framing, insulation, vinyl, appliances, cabinets and fixtures. It generates more loose debris per square foot than a stick built house of the same size, and it spreads.
Underneath there is a whole second job. Piers or blocks, tie down anchors, skirting, utility connections, and often a slab or a gravel pad. A porch or deck someone added later. Sometimes a second trailer that was joined to the first.
And it has usually been sitting. Abandoned mobile homes in South Texas fill with contents, animals and water damage. That is not a problem, it is just something we need to know about before we plan the work.
Property comes with a trailer on it that has been empty since the nineties. You want the land, not the trailer.
The old home comes off, the new one goes on. The pad and the utility connections matter here, so tell us what the new home needs.
Landlords with mobile homes on rural lots eventually hit the point where the unit is not worth another repair.
Manufactured homes take damage badly. Once the shell is compromised, removal is usually the practical answer.
A notice or a closing condition with a date attached. Tell us the date.
Electric, water, gas or propane, and the sewer or septic connection. Propane tanks need to be removed or emptied by the supplier. Septic tanks are a separate item, so ask if that applies to yours.
Manufactured homes are titled. If the trailer was not yours to begin with, or the title situation is unclear, get that sorted before demolition. It comes up more often than you would think on inherited property.
How do we get equipment and a haul trailer to the unit? Rural lots with a cattle gate and a soft caliche road are workable, we just need to know in advance.
Tell us if it is full. It changes the volume.
If the home is in decent shape, moving it is sometimes an option worth exploring before you demolish it. Most of the units we get called about are past that point, but it costs you nothing to ask. We will tell you honestly which category yours is in.
